Located on Palisado Avenue in Windsor, the John Gaylord House was built in 1772. John Gaylord‘s ancestors were French Huguenots who had emigrated to England in the 1550s. The Gaylord family was one of the first to settle in Windsor.

John Gaylord is my 4th Great Grandfather. He served in the Revolutionary War in the Connecticut Militia during the blockade of Boston. Then as ship’s carpenter on the USS Trumball, built in Connecticut and one of the first 13 ships in the US Navy.
