A mansion erected by a member of the Vanderbilt family once stood along Farmington Avenue in West Hartford, Connecticut. In this video I explain how the mansion came to be built, mention a notable artistic couple that was married in it, and tell how the mansion was replaced by an exclusive housing development.

Anderson Cooper’s book reveals a lot about the travails of the Vanderbilt family. The building at the corner of Walkley Rd was an older house moved to make room for the mansion. Dan keep up the interesting videos!

    Dorian,
Thanks for watching! I’ll have to feature the house that was moved on this website.

I just was privileged to see your YouTube video on she G Fox and Company. It almost brought tears of joy because being brought up and raised in Hartford in West Hartford that was my go to place to shop, even when I had very little money. I live on Long Island near New York City and she G Fox & company could give plenty of competition to Bergdorf Goodman and Henri Bendel. You did a wonderful job Bonnie Salkind
