George W. Flint House

I will be giving a talk tonight at the Hartford Club. Check it out if you are a member! Here is a Hartford building for today: Designed by Hapgood & Hapgood, the house at 310 Collins Street in Hartford is transitional between the Queen Anne and Tudor Revival styles. Built in 1895, it was the home of George W. Flint, a furniture dealer who partnered with John M. Bruce to form the Flint-Bruce Company on Asylum Street in Hartford. The company later had a building on Trumbull Street.

I have a 1929 mahogany chest of drawers from the Flint and Bruce company in Hartford Ct. Original owner wrote on the bottom of a small drawer that it was purchased on May 8, 1929, tge name of the furniture company and who it was purchased by. The chest if drawers has beautifully carved pineapples just below the top of the dresser. Mirror was lost in a move. Lightly scratched but for an 89 year old dresser it’s in great condition. Could someone give me a value of this puece? I can send pics if given the availability.
    Thank you for your time.

    Sincerely,
    Debi O’Driscoll
