The house at 847 North Main Street is circa 1748, but the date in the historical records is listed as 1777, I believe. The information I received when I moved into the house in 1983 was that the house is called “The Gurdon Flagg House,” and Gurdon Flagg did live in the house, but I don’t know if he is a descendant of the family who built the house. The plaque that was on the front of the house when I bought it said, “The Gurdon Flagg House circa 1748.

My name is Peter. My parents owned this home in the early 1960’s. The house was built in 1748. The kitchen was remodeled during our time there, before 1966. The main stairs were straightened at the same time.

My home at 847 North Main Street no longer has an in ground swimming pool. I had it filled in and the fence surrounding the pool removed. I am trying to recreate the space with native trees, fruit trees, shrubs, and flowers. I have a small pond with water flowing over rocks. Birds use the pond for drinking water.
