The George and Edward Thompson House is an Italianate house, built on Farmington Ave in Unionville in 1884. It features a veranda with Eastlake-influenced columns and balustrades. The property also has an original barn.

The “veranda” was added in the early 1920’s. The bay windows are not original to the house, and were added prior to the veranda. At the same time, the front entry was pushed out three feet to accommodate the bays. Additionally, the West porch was also added later (prior to 1926). The house was originally built by the two brothers as a single family home. Shortly after completion, one of the brothers was married and the house began to take its shape as a two-family home, the status of the home until 2010. The current owners (Matthew and Chalise Ross) are in the process of returning the interior of the home to its “original” single family style.
