Today is the Fourteenth Anniversary of Historic Buildings of Connecticut, which started with its first post (the Joseph Webb House in Wethersfield) back in 2007! Thank you all who follow my posts here, which have featured over 4,346 buildings in 136 towns! I hope to someday get to buildings in the other 33 towns!
I’m announcing the return of this site’s companion blog, Historic Buildings of Massachusetts! The site has been offline for about a year and hadn’t been updated since the end of 2017, but I have some new material that I’ll be adding from Concord and Sheffield, and a great deal from Gloucester, like the brick hotel, pictured above, which dates to 1810. I’ve also recently posted a library and a church, both in Great Barrington. In addition, I’ve been working on indexes of buildings by street address for each town (like the ones I have for this site), and I have so far completed most of them. Please check out that site (and this one, of course!) for new posts!
For everyone who likes looking up buildings on this site, you can always scroll through the categories on the right sidebar and on the Categories page, or use the Search page. I am also working on completing building indices (indexes) for each town. You can find them on the Index by Town page. These are restricted to buildings featured on this site so far. For each town, the buildings are listed by address. Most towns I’ve featured on this site have building indexes already, but I am continuing to make new ones: recently I’ve added Newington, Norfolk, Waterford and Washington. Check them out and thanks for following this site!

As of today there are 4,184 individual building posts on this site! My first post was the Joseph Webb House in Wethersfield, back when it was still painted red!
