The Methodist Church in Manchester began with a sermon preached in the spring of 1790 by the Rev. George Roberts in the home of Thomas Spencer. Rev. Roberts was an assistant of the Rev. Jesse Lee, who had preached the first Methodist sermon in Connecticut in Norwalk on June 7th, 1789. A Methodist Society in Manchester was soon organized and the first church building was constructed in 1794. In 1822, a new building was built at the corner of Center and Main Streets, now the site of a Masonic Temple. In 1851, the expanding congregation decided to divide into two congregations. The North Methodist Episcopal Church was built in 1851 on North Main Street and, after receiving a hundred new members, a new South Church was built in 1854 at the corner of Main Street and Hartford Road. This church was enlarged in 1891 and replaced by the current church in 1925. It was designed in a Tudor Gothic style by architect Arthur Eaton Hill of Providence, Rhode Island, who died before it was completed. In 1958, the church acquired the estate of Frank Cheney, Jr., located across Hartford Road.

A methodist found Jesus. Praise God.

    Dear Pastor Jan:

I was a Methodist who had become dsenchanted with my church. I visited many churches of various denominations but could not find a new home. So I seldom went to church. One Saturday afternoon I opened my front door and found the book “National Sunday Law” on my door step. I read it every night for two weeks, looking up every scripture and referece to be sure there was no error in your book. Not only could I find any error, but I was overwhelingly convinced of the Sabbath truth. I began studying with the SDA folks who left me the book and learned all the wonderful Bible truths that SDAs hold dear to their hearts. I knew I had to get this book to my mother and father so they could share my new faith. My mother accepted the Sabbath. Then her health rapidly deteriorated. when the date for her baptsim arrived, she had already been bedridden for 10 days. God gave her a miracle: She woke up Sabbath morning feeling great, went to the
service, got baptized, and went home a new born Seventh Day Adventist. The next day she fell back into deep illness and soon died. She is resting now, waiting in her grave for Jesus’ return. I was baptized shortly after her, and now I am teaching God’s truth to all my friends. In addition, we go out Sabbath afternoon and hand out hundreds of NSLs door-to-door. Praise God for his wonderful Saventh Day Sabbath!

    Dear sir:

Your book National Sunday Law is Dynamite. I can see that the issue in this book is going to be the deciding factor for the two classes of people in the world. I feel that, it needs to be read far and wide to show people the evil that’s been in our midst. I can see that Rome’s working is disguised. I’m ordering more of these books to give to others. There are many who need to be reached with this message. May God bless you!

    Dear 3ABN Family:

I am a 91 year old widow and believed that I was a true Christian. I taught Sunday School and I became a deacon and an elder but when I found 3ABN a year ago, I realized I did not know the Bible very well. I started studying the Bible with the help of all the pastors on 3 ABN and I have learned so very much. I was a re-baptized and joined the Seventh Day Adventist church and now I am sending a small gift to continue God’s work. Praise God. If our names are written in the book of life, God will wait until we find Him and His precious truth. Thank you Lord for your promise. I pray that the local Sunday pastors will see your truth and win many for the Lord.

    Dear Pastor Jan and family:

I have sent thousands of copies of NSL to Zambia, Kenya, and Ghana. This week a pastor in Zambia by the name of Chibela, wrote and asked for as many books as we can send him. He is on fire with great ambition to save souls for the Lord. God used him to win three entire churches to His 7th Day Adventist Bible message – One Pentecostal, one Jehovah’s Witeness, and half the students in a Cahtolic boys high school along with their priest! That was 500 boys. What a thrill it was to receive his message with their photo. He said, NSL books are doing miracles here in Ghana. We are SDAs. I am praying daily for you and your fellow workers. By God’s grace, keep up the work of the LOrd to win souls.

    Sincerely, Camille Smith.

    Dear Pastor Marcussen:

I have been going to church all my life, and I have heard many sermons on the book of Revelation, but never has anything touched my heart like the book “National Sunday Law”. I was born a Roman Catholic, but my eyes are being opened to the things that the Catholic Church has done to our LORD’S L A W. I want to know more of God’s truth. Please send me your follow-up book. God bless you and your ministry.
