Dr. Elisha Graham, from Wintonbury, settled in Canton in 1753. His house, at 477 Cherry Brook Road, was originally quite small, but was much enlarged over the years by later owners, beginning with Watson Case, who acquired the house in 1840. His granddaughter, Agnes Sweeton King, was a respected teacher and principal in Canton.
