Built in 1902, the house on the southwest corner of Park Avenue and Atlantic Street in Bridgeport was the home of John G. Howland, president of the Howland Dry Goods Company, a major Bridgeport department store. Since 1949, the English Tudor-style house has been owned by the University of Bridgeport and is called Howland Hall.
