John Goodrich was a descendant early Glastonbury settlers. His house, on Main Street in Glastonbury, was built in 1760. After his death, his daughters sold it to a cousin, Israel Goodrich. In 1806, the year he married Harriet Miller, he modernized the interior, reducing the size of the original kitchen fireplace. The home is currently for sale.
