The earliest section of the house at 94 Hubbard Street in Glastonbury was built in 1795 by David Talcott. The house was later expanded with additional rooms and another door on the west (front) facade. Another addition was subsequently built onto the southeast side of the house. Members of the Talcott family continued to own the house into the early twentieth century.

Davis Talcott and his second wife, Rhonda House, were my grandparents. I live in California, but on one of my trips to Glastonbury to do research at the nearby genealogy center and to visit the Green Cemetery, I went to David’s nearby historical house. The new young renter let me come in to tour this old place with the three-sided fireplace, old kitchen, and connected back room that had been used to hold livestock, providing warmth and protection… now a roomy den with furniture. I wish I could have spoken to the David Talcott descendent who was the last Talcott owner of the old house to tell him of the interesting Talcott bios and stories of our mutual family members I had researched before I had to leave.
